World Youth Day 2008

World Youth Day 2008 is a Roman Catholic youth festival and will take place in Sydney, Australia and the event has already begun this Wednesday and will end this Sunday with mass by Pope Benedict XVI .

About 250 000 people are expected to attend this gathering and half of them are from around the world.

The pope did broadcast a text-message to pilgrims who registered for the event:

"The Holy Spirit gave the Apostles and gives u the power boldly 2 proclaim that Christ is risen! - BXVI."

It is a time for pilgrims to gather and share their stories on how God has touched them and changed their lives.

Let us pray that pilgrims attending this event will be safe amongst the large crowd and find meaning from this event that will not only impact them but also the people that surround them when they return home.
