See the big picture...

I can't deny the fact that humans, how intelligent we are in comparison to other animals in the animal kingdom, we tend to be very narrow at times about certain aspects of life. I mean these aspects of life are of course important to us, hence, our desire to worry and be concerned about them. It's only human to feel that way!

People worry about money, car, house, food, health, work, love, kids etc.

Yes, all these components are essential to us and we are dependable on them towards sustaining an equilibrium in our lives.

The fact that I mentioned food above is because of my recent awareness of the scarceness in food in countries like Ethiopia base on my old edition of Time magazine. It just shows how there are still people in this world who are dependant on simple things like clean food, water and proper health plans. They rely on dontations from richer nations to keep them and their kids alive. As you read this, try to imagine a 2 year old kid with a bloated belly(not fat) but as a result of malnutrition.

Back to the topic of seeing the big picture, we narrow our thoughts on this one aspect / component of life, that may squeeze the fun and self contentment in us. All we think about is the problem and how we gonna solve it, when and how. Like I said, we wouldn't worry for nothing if it was not important to us so but atleast we realized and are made aware that there is a problem.

But on seeing this as part of our life, look at the big picture.

There are so many things that we should be thankful and blessed about. For example in Malaysia, most of us have jobs(although we may not like them) but it helps to pay bills, care for loved ones and to reward ourselves as part of enjoying the beauty and goodness of life. We should be thankful for the achievements we have made like having one of the tallest towers in the world, make our own cars (although may not be comparable to international standards) etc. Take a look around.

Close an eye on that component of life that bothers you and kills the living life out of you.

A few days back, after dropping Ruby home, I took Sg Pinang to get home. I was forced to slow down my car as there was this moto roda tiga / moto org cacat. I followed the motorbike as I guess it was heading on the same path as me.

I noticed the pillion. She was a spestic lady riding behind either her husband, dad or brother. She was barely clinging on to the male rider and being a paranoia I was afraid she may just loose balance and fall to be rolled over by a Myvi.

I could not help but notice she and the partner were smiling and talking so nicely. It looked like they enjoyed the day, the moto ride or their company together. I realized that even though there are problems in life, seeing the bigger picture and the happiness that we are blessed with, life takes a whole different toll ; life looks brighter and we tend to look forward to it.

It can be difficult and stressful to have problems but we should see the other parts of our lives that we are comfortable with and be thankful. Atleast there is something in life that we should be happy about and be proud of.

Problems are inevitable but it depends how you accept it, work around it or try to avoid it.

We should not over-stress when facing problems but to accept them and not to run away from them. Running away from problems does not make us look any less macho. We are just lieing to ourselves that we are perfect and giving ourselves false expectations that there are no problems. Identify the problem from the root! Consult if lost and assure others when others are lost. Seek the truth not think the truth!

It's best to handle them heads on and to not retreat to our comfort zones when there is a problem. Be there and fight it out! My dad always reminds me; when the going get tough, the tuff get going. Give your best and make a difference. Learn from problems as problems make life more interesting and we would have acquired the experience and wisdom to address them should they reoccur in the future, God forbid.

I know it's difficult to follow or to learn anything of substance from this post as we are only human. Atleast, with this sharing we may realize the bigger picture in life!
